K&G Strategic Vision
K&G’s long-term vision is to contribute to the development of Structural Intelligence as a recognized field for understanding how organizational structures shape Observation, Understanding, Decision, Action and Outcome.
Organizations are becoming increasingly interconnected, technologically mediated and structurally complex. Decisions are made across functions, management layers, locations, systems and increasingly intelligent technologies.
At the same time, Reality continues to change.
The ability to understand how organizational structures interact with that changing Reality will therefore become increasingly important.
K&G’s ambition is to help establish the intellectual, executive and scientific foundations through which Structural Intelligence can continue to develop.
A Field Beyond K&G
Structural Intelligence should not remain dependent on K&G or on any single organization.
The long-term ambition is a field that can be independently examined, challenged, refined and developed.
That requires clear conceptual foundations, explicit hypotheses, methodological standards and a growing body of independent research.
Universal Structural Intelligence provides the intellectual architecture from which this development begins.
Its future credibility must ultimately depend on what can withstand serious investigation.
From Executive Application to Scientific Investigation
Organizations provide one environment in which structural relationships become visible.
Executive application can therefore generate important questions about how Reality is Observed, Understood and acted upon within complex organizational systems.
Scientific investigation serves a different purpose.
It can examine whether proposed structural relationships can be observed, tested, challenged and replicated beyond individual applications.
The long-term development of Structural Intelligence therefore requires both practical relevance and scientific independence.
Neither should substitute for the other.
Developing Structural Intelligence Across Generations
If Structural Intelligence develops into a meaningful field, its future should extend beyond today’s executives and organizations.
Researchers should be able to investigate it.
Universities should be able to challenge it.
Students should be able to study and question it.
Future executives should be able to build upon it.
New evidence should be able to refine, constrain or reject existing propositions.
The objective is not to preserve a fixed body of thought.
It is to create a sufficiently disciplined foundation from which knowledge can continue to develop.
The Long-Term Direction
K&G sees a future in which Structural Intelligence can contribute to how organizations and researchers examine the relationship between:
Reality
Organizational structures
Observation and Understanding
Decision and Action
Outcome and New Reality
As organizations become more complex and intelligent systems increasingly participate in how Reality is observed and interpreted, understanding these structural relationships may become increasingly consequential.
K&G’s role is to establish a foundation from which that investigation can continue.
Not to determine where Structural Intelligence must end, but to make serious investigation of where it can go possible.
This would make Strategic Vision actually strategic.
Then Strategic Vision becomes the one place on the website where you deliberately zoom out from today’s commercial K&G and show what you are trying to build over decades.
